I did put 5 stars for the rooms but I did not use one. The Sunday lunch was lovely - I chose the chicken and it was beautifully cooked. The baked Alaska we shared and again I could not fault it. Great menu and so nice that they allow dogs in as well. Harrison was our attendant and so kind and helpful. Thank you Ragged Robin for a lovely family get together.

As a family party of 9 we visited The ragged Robin for a early evening Sunday roast. My 1st impression was ample excellent parking, make sure you add your registration to the computer screen as you enter to avoid a parking fee. We sat in the cosy lounge bar area waiting for all the guests to arrive, I noted a nice long bar with a good choice of quality ales and beers. As soon as all the party were gathered we were shown through to the dining area and seated by our very happy server Griff, who turned out to be an absolute star with his comical comments, card trick and attentive personality. We were promptly offered drinks and the Sunday menu, everyone seemed impressed with the large choice options and I chose lemonade without ice as I'm driving and my aging teeth are sensitive to cold drinks, roast chicken with all the typical Sunday roast trimmings including cauliflower cheese, which is a perfect accompaniment for a roast FYI and cheese souffle for starter. The souflee was absolutely delicious , it's not something I would normally choose, however I was most impressed with the strong cheese taste and light start to the meal, Along with baguette and dips for all to dive in and share.. not a word usually in my dining vocabulary... There's a first for everything. Then along came the star of the show... My Sunday roast, chicken fell off the bone and was exceptionally moist, one of the best I've ever tasted, Yorkshire pudding, roast potatoes and a mix of root and leafy vegetables, which you could order more of at no extra charge, yes you guessed it... I'm a foodie so the temptation got the better of me and I ordered more.. oink! oink!! Then came the piste de resistance the pudding!!! After ordering my third lemonade without ice, I went for the chocolate fondant mmmmm absolutely delicious!!! To sum up the evening, first class service, drink, food and atmosphere. This comes at a reasonable price, however worth every penny and we will be definitely visiting again and it won't be long before we do.

Visited for dinner with my parents on a Friday night and service all around was excellent. The restaurant and bar were very busy yet there were no delays on drinks or food at all - and all very delicious. Really friendly staff, particularly from Rose who served us in the restaurant. Breakfast the following morning was really tasty - we all got the English breakfast which left us nice and full. Marlena looked after us and never left us without coffee or anything else we needed. A lovely visit all around and will be back soon :)

I had an absolutely wonderful dining experience at the restaurant with my family. We started with Jerusalem artichoke soup, which was absolutely delicious, like heaven! The main dishes were spectacular, the duck was perfectly cooked, the chicken was tender and flavourful, and the trout was delicious. All the desserts were amazing, and the coffee was top notch. The entire team, Harrison, Barry, Toby, Marlena, Kian, and Jordan, were so friendly and attentive, making the experience even more enjoyable. My family and I felt so relaxed and truly enjoyed every moment. Thank you so much to everyone, and we can’t wait to return!

I’ve now stayed at The Ragged Robin six times, including a four-night stay over Christmas, and it has become our default choice whenever visiting family and friends in Surrey. For a pub with rooms, the standard of accommodation is fantastic. The rooms are tastefully decorated – cosy, welcoming and thoughtfully done (and the beds are exceptionally comfortable!) The food is consistently tasty, and the drinks menu varied. But what really sets The Ragged Robin apart, though, is the staff. Everyone is genuinely warm and attentive, with particular thanks to André and Toby, who go above and beyond to make each stay enjoyable. Highly recommended and somewhere I continue to return.

We had a wonderful experience at The Ragged Robin in Godalming and couldn’t recommend it highly enough. The food was absolutely excellent – beautifully presented, full of flavour, and clearly made with care. The atmosphere was also lovely: warm, relaxed, and perfect for enjoying a meal. However, what really made this visit stand out was the service, especially from our waitress Eva. She was truly brilliant. From the moment we arrived, she was attentive, quick to respond to our needs, and made sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. Eva was warm, gentle, and incredibly friendly, always smiling and making us feel genuinely welcome. She explained the menu well, and created such a comfortable and positive experience. She is exactly what you hope for in great service, and she definitely made the whole experience most enjoyable. We’ll be back for sure!

The two nearest towns to TRR are Guildford and Godalming where you will find a number restaurants of varied cuisine to cater for all tastes. That is, if you do not want to take advantage of the facilities within the TRR. It sits on its own, away from other buildings, and may not look that appealing from the outside, until you are in and immediately feel the welcoming vibe. I expect all the rooms to be as inviting as the one we were in, entering to classic music softly playing from a Robert radio! On the side table were titbits, including, sweet miniature amuse bouches, with hot drinks choices. All in all, nothing could be faulted whilst there, as the staff did their upmost to make you feel at home. Disfrutar.

We used our Virgin Experience gift for dinner and decided to stay in a cosy comfort room for the night. All staff were very polite and welcoming. The room, bar and restaurant were equally clean and comfortable with a homely decor. Good food, good service, overall good value. Ideal for a short stay.
